India successfully test-fired a BrahMos supersonic cruise missile from Indian Navy’s latest destroyer INS Kolkata.
Sources said that the launch was flawless. “The missile met all its designed parameters and it was a treat to watch,” a senior BrahMos official said.
“All the three ships are equipped with vertical launched Brahmos Supersonic Cruise Missile System as the prime strike weapon,” the official said.
He said the Universal Vertical Launcher (UVLM) being used has a unique design, developed and patented by BrahMos Aerospace.
BrahMos chief Sudhir Mishra congratulated the BrahMos Team and Indian Navy on the successful mission.
